About Kim
How I Work

My theoretical orientation comes from the psychoanalytic/psychodynamic school of thought, however I utilize a variety of different therapeutic modalities modifying my treatment approach to meet the needs of each individual client. I emphasize the connection between the mind and the body and work experientially and relationally to assist my clients in integrating the two. I aim to support my clients in uncovering and discovering: uncovering the parts of yourself you have exiled, the needs and wants you have neglected, the hopes dreams you have abandoned and discovering who you are, that you are far more capable than you think you are, and that you are enough just as you are.

I have a profound respect for the healing power of the therapeutic process. Research shows that in psychotherapy healing takes place largely in part due to the authentic meeting between therapist and client. Treatment begins with establishing a trusting relationship, and I am acutely aware that trust is cultivated over time. Psychotherapy is a collaborative process, a joint effort between the therapist and the client. You are the expert on your own life and the gatekeeper of the therapeutic relationship; you choose how much or how little to share and when to share.
